Dutch pancakes are a popular meal that every visitor should try, we recommend Pannenkoekenhuis Upstairs (so long as you don’t mind the steep staircase up to the restaurant) which serve generous sized helpings of this favourite, the bacon and syrup pancake being particularly delicious.
Famous for its museums, most important of which are located in the Museumplein, Amsterdam offers you a chance to see unforgettable masterpieces by Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Mondriaan and more. The Anne Frank House is a sobering reminder of the city’s more recent history. After a lot of walking, the Rijksmuseum is a great place to rest and get some extra culture before visiting Amsterdam’s lovely Vondelpark.
“Great location. From Schiphol airport 12 minute train ride to RAI station. Less than 5 minute walk from Amsterdam RAI through the tunnel/walking path to the hotel. RAI station is well connected and is 10 min ride from city centre. Very clean, modern and comfortable rooms. Super friendly and helpful desk staff that provided us a map and some good spots to visit (especially Elina, I hope I spelled your name right!) Overall great value; would certainly return!”
“unieke locatie en alles wat men wilt, zoals een compacte kamer met al het nodige comfort en zeer vriendelijke bediening met de nodige uitleg om bijvoorbeeld het veer te nemen of in de late uurtjes het shuttelbusje”
Close to Museumplein and the Vondel Park, this lively square has plenty of nightlife, with everything from Irish bars to the comedy club, Boom Chicago. There are also some great music clubs in the area, including the Melkweg, Paradiso and de Balie. View hotels.
“Geen warm ontbijt, maar dit verwachtten we niet voor de voordelige prijs. Wel genoeg variatie. De croissants waren heerlijk. We mochten heel vroeg inchecken. Aan de balie waren ze zeer vriendelijk en helpvol. Tramhalte aan overkant, met tram 14 vlot naar centrum Amsterdam. Mogelijkheid om ticket openbaar vervoer in het hotel aan te kopen.”

“The staff were staff were extremely happy to oblige to all our requests during our stay. The room was small yet adequate for two people even with quite a lot of luggage. The bed was really comfortable and the room warm enough despite snow outside. We had a balcony too, which was nice. The hotel is within walking distance of the main museums and the I Amsterdam sign, we used the tram stop at these museums to get to the city centre. ”

Strolling through the markets, past the design-led cafes, and the boutique shops is like stepping back in time to a world where cobbled streets ruled and friendly faces were around every corner. There’s a wealth of art and design throughout the city too, with a number of galleries, studios, and museums showcasing the creative atmosphere of Amsterdam.
