“Leuk hotel voor bezoekje aan Amsterdam, vlakbij station en centrum. Eenvoudige, schone kamer met alles wat je nodig hebt: douche, toilet, bed en TV. Niet ruim maar dat maakt het leuke terras en het café weer goed. Vriendelijk personeel en lekker eten. Op de dag dat ik aankwam, tegen de 30 gr.C, stond de ventilator al te draaien om de kamer af te laten koelen. Heel attent!”
Pros: Everything, the Days Inn was we wonderful, rooms were updated, the bathrooms were very clean. Breakfast was going included homemade pancakes! Play area had a beautiful swimming pool, swingset and a slide a large picnic table. Loved it!!!

I tend to over pack for trips and my visit to a Belvilla holiday home was no exception. As I filled the car I had visions of my new neighbours laughing as I attempted to drag everything inside. What I didn’t know was that those neighbours would be non-existent.
Pros: The INK hotel is in the perfect spot and it’s a gorgeous boutique. The room had very unique, modern decor with stylish writing on the walls. I worried that the look might come off cheesy, but it was very well done. Loves the staff, restaurant, and bar!
Cons: The front desk and housekeeping seemed understaffed. There always seemed to be a very long line to check in/out & ask questions. Rooms were not ready when promised although it ended up working in our favor as we received an upgrade & free drinks at the bar.

Geweldige stad. Veel te doen voor alle leeftijden. Gezellige kroegen, lekker eten. Wel ontzettend druk. Café Hoppe (spui) is een topper evenals café old sailor (de wallen). Restaurant Haesje Claas lekker Hollands. Met de dames naar de diamantair Gassan geweest. Leuke rondleiding!
Cons: Pool very small. The room was missing half the coffee pot, and you could hear every neighbor. The breakfast set-up was not cared for and had non-functioning equipment and missing some of the food items listed online. Price is same as the very nice hotel 2 down I have stayed with a few times prior, but they are often fully booked.
West Side Inn Hotel Amsterdam is located west of the town centre, just off the A10 city ring and 20 minutes’ by public transport from the old city centre. It features private parking, a 24-hour reception, a bar and terrace, a restaurant serving a breakfast buffet, and a food corner in the lobby serving salads, sandwiches and pizzas. The stylish, modern rooms feature TVs, work desks, and en suite bathrooms with free toiletries.
Cons: Room was right next to the elevator. Recently remodeled which was evident from the paint splatters on the sill and carpet. Microwave was broken and toilet didn’t want to flush. Not and ideal location near holland activities. Too much money for what you actually get.
there were only 4 cups and 5 glasses with one to chip. The vesicle lava door was held with tape. the full under the cuissine too. One of the shower had no fitting and was leaking a lot. No calves, no double bed and especially no bed at the same height to make a double bed. On the gas stove only one plate out of 4 was functional. The WIFI did not work either and it did not work out of the week despite a trip to the agency.
Pros: Not one thing, breakfast was awful, frozen biscuits in warmer, no coffee in urns, waffle mix was empty, Danish were empty and no bagels or cream cheese no plastic silverware, too few channels on TV, air conditioner very noisy and any painting, tile work or trim work was the worst quality I have ever seen.
Cons: I had high hopes for this property upon arrival, but overall was let down. I had the hotel dry clean three silk items, all of which were ruined. It took me over a week to get them to resolve it and in the end, they only paid out 75% of the replacement cost. We were put in a disabled accessible room located right by the elevator (despite not requesting an accessible room). It was loud, the accessible shower allowed water to get all over the bathroom floor. The vanity outlet in the bathroom wouldn’t work and it took them coming out two times to fix it, leaving me unable to do my hair both mornings we were there. Upon arrival, the woman who greeted us (and was apparently training) said that welcome drinks were complimentary for guests. When the man training her joined her to do our check-in in the lounge, he asked if we were in town for anything special. I mentioned it was for my husband’s birthday weekend and he offered to “cover our drinks.” This seemed odd given the woman had just told us they were complimentary. Not sure if he was being underhanded or if the woman training was just mistaken. The whole thing struck me as odd.
Cons: Lounge didn’t have food available all the time Lounge should open at 5 am We were with my handicap father and the hotel lobby is handicap accessible but it would be a real problem if he had to leave quickly.
We didn’t get a chance to explore really as this was an unexpected stop over after a connecting flight to another country was missed. An early flight the following morning prevented any chance to look around.
The Royal Theatre Carré was originally designed as a circus theatre in 1887 and now features acclaimed shows like The War Horse and performers such as Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, and Marianne Faithfull.

Amsterdam is a wonderful open minded city. Most people are friendly and unlike Germany not only the people is more beautiful but their attitude as well. This is my second time to Amsterdam ans it will not be my last one.
This five star bed and breakfast has contemporary rooms with exposed beam ceilings. It’s adults only, so you can enjoy a very grown up stay. Although it’s a B&B, breakfast isn’t served on-site: instead you get a voucher for the celebrated Vlaamsch Broodhuys bakers just along the road.
Two of the best places to try hand-made stroopwafels are a little café called Lanskroon, in the centre of the city, and from the vendor in Albert Cuypmarkt who makes them from fresh throughout the day.
Cons: Price, cable was poor, no breakfast included. I stayed in a Hyatt Place in Arizona for half the price, same/better amenities, with a hot breakfast included. Obviously Hilton was gouging based on limited competition and seasonally high demand (Holland Tulip Time).
Budget accommodation can be found just a short walk away from the city centre. Leafy Oud-West, which borders Vondelpark, or vibrant De Pijp are desirable neighbourhoods, which offer a variety of comfortable hotels.

Pros: The location is perfect, walking distance from the train. We also walked both days from the hotel through the neighborhoods to the museum district and back. The breakfast and cocktail receptions were an added benefit.
