Situated in one of the oldest streets, in the famous old town centre, Hotel Internationaal is only 20 minutes by train from the airport and a 2 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. The hotel has a friendly Dutch pub, which was founded in 1928 for the sailors coming back from their long sea journeys. Until today, the style of the interior has remained authentic, with a old harpoon hanging above the bar and a lot of other antiques reminding us of the “Golden age”.
Amsterdam is a cosy city, with a flurry of winding streets, tall, narrow houses, and cute bridges popping up over the array of canals. Strolling through the markets, past the design-led cafes, and the boutique shops is like stepping back in time to a world where cobbled streets ruled and friendly faces were around every corner. There’s a wealth of art and design throughout the city too, with a number of galleries, studios, and museums showcasing the creative atmosphere of Amsterdam. Fit in with the locals by hiring a bike and whizzing alongside trams, over humped bridges, and into the labyrinth of cool, quirky streets. And, afterwards, soak up the intimate ambiance with one of our apartments in Amsterdam, where you can stay in a budget flat or boutique holiday rental in the centre of all the action.

“Just perfect. 4 metro stops from center and station (stop just close to hotel). Nice staff and bar, 2 clubs, restaurant. Breakfast complete and really tasty. Room tiny and comfortable with nice view of the city.”

Amsterdam is nice but reaearch a bit of time kn advanced to know where thw cheapest places to eat and drink are. Plan in advanced museums and sightseeing as they sell out. Invest in bus ticket at the bookstore in the airport. It is cheaper for a few day pass and that is worth it. Invest in skip the line offers for tourist attractions.

Amsterdam has a quirky range of public transport, including traditional tram services that work through the city, numerous buses, and an extensive and efficient train service that runs to outer parts of the city and nearby towns. Thanks to the canals, there are also a range of water-based transport options, but the best way to get around is by bike – a firm favourite amongst the locals.

Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport is really close to the city centre and therefore really easy to get to via a selection of public transport. The easiest way is to hop on the train, which takes around 20 minutes. Alternatively, there are a selection of buses outside the terminals that travel direct to various parts of the city centre. Otherwise there is a busy taxi rank by the airport where you can pick up a quick, cheap cab to your destination.
If you’ve made it to Amsterdam, you’ll probably want to spend a night (or ten) here; there is far too much to see and do in a day. Amsterdam hotels range from the basic to brilliant, and if you’re looking for an extra unique place to lay your head check out our pick of 10 unusual hotels in Amsterdam. Like most major cities Amsterdam is made up of a collection of neighbourhoods, each one with its own personality and selling points. There’s the 9-Straatjes, a small area in the centre that boasts lots of narrow streets lined with quirky shops and cafes. The Centrum is in a similar area and is perhaps the busiest spot in the city. It has a plethora of museums, lively bars, and top-notch shops that are a big hit with tourists and locals. Then there’s De Pijp, which is similar to the 9-Straatjes in appearance but has a lot fewer tourists. This is where you’ll find lots of the markets and local, independent stores. Jordaan is one of the best-loved neighbourhoods in the city, and is home to a lot of young creatives, up-and-coming bars, and street art. NDSM-Werf is similar to Jordaan in that it is hugely creative and is called home by a number of artists, musicians, and students. Then there’s Oud-Zuid, the richer part of the city that caters to expensive tastes and luxury desires.
From the charming canal belt (grachtengordel) to the lively Red Light District, and from buzzy Rembrandtplein to the more peaceful suburbs of the Oud Zuid – Amsterdam has a district and a pace to suit every traveller.
Close to Museumplein and the Vondel Park, this lively square offers plenty of nightlife, with everything from Irish bars to the comedy venue, Boom Chicago. There are also some great music venues in the vicinity, including the Melkweg, Paradiso and de Balie. View hotels.

Great place to visit more than once in Life, there are plenty to do, but a 3-day visit is enough. It’s kinda expensive, even souvenirs are expensive, so when visiting Amsterdam make sure to bring money enough to do whatever you want. Night life is good, there’s always something to do, for all tastes.

Aanrader!”
